Kobi Onyame is a Ghanaian/UK-based Hip Hop producer/artist in his late 20s. He describes his music as a fusion of his life's influences, circumstances and changes. At the age of 14, he started writing songs to beats he would make by looping the ends of popular Hip Hop records - this was the beginning of the inner producer. He only started to rap himself because he found it hard to find other young emcees in his area to rhyme over his beats.
“I’ve always been a producer first… I only started to rap because no one would rhyme over my beats… 2009 saw Kobi move from strength to strength. Playing a range of shows ranging from intimate venues such as London's legendary Jazz Cafe to gracing the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury Festival. West, Akon, De La Soul, Sway, Flo Rida, Wiley and more. The release of his single "He Said She Said" featuring UK rap heavyweight Sway saw Kobi's industry awareness increase, with support from UKs DJ's Semtex, MistaJam, Shortee Blitz, Ras Kwame, Vic Galloway, Jim Gellatly, DJ Black and more. Furthermore, radio stations such as BBC Radio 1Xtra, Radio 1 (Regional) have supported his music. 2012 is the year Kobi pushes for international recognition and success. He is currently promoting his EP entitled "Green Green Grasses". He's currently riding high in Europe with the melodic; modern single called "Inner City lights" feat. SixPeopleAway.
