KokuGonza is one of the artists ushering in the “Neo Soul-World Music” movement with the release of her highly anticipated third CD, Radiozophrenic.  Radiozophrenic encompass her schizophrenic passion for genre blending and musical variety. Audiences can expect to hear elements of American Neo-Soul/R&B, Pop and the global vibes of East Africa from KokuGonza. The eclectic style of KokuGonza’s music stems from her parents.

Her father Longfellow Mugarula from Bukoba,Tanzania was a folk singer/songwriter and guitar player. Her mother a Jazz and Gospel artist from South Carolina played the flute, keyboard and saxophone. Her parents recognized her interest in music and enrolled her in piano lessons at an early age. After studying piano, she learned guitar her last year in college at Indiana University. Within a few months of lessons, guitar became her first love.

She and her first love relocated to Chicago after college and began recording her EP Confessions of A Songwriter released in 2009. In the spring of 2010 she released her second self produced EP Play Ground. Since the release of her first EP, KokuGonza has shared the stage with soulful heavy weight artist such as the “Jazz-Funk Fusion” legend Roy Ayers, the “Millennium Bluesman” Anthony David and the elegant  “Soulful-Siren” Yahzarah.

KokuGonza’s music is parallel to the translation of her Kihaya name, which means lovely. She applies love, soul and passion into the ingredients of her genre defiant pallet on her first full- length album, Radiozophrenic. “Radiozophrenic” is her current release.

Named one of the BBC’s Top 50 Ghanaians to watch, and recipient of multiple accolades including awards and nominations from MOBO, KORA Awards, Ghana Music Awards and M-Net’s Channel O. M3NSA (Men-sah) is re-energizing the music scene with his unique fusion of true school Hip Hop and West African homegrown Hip-life. ‘No.1 Mango Street’ (2011) his debut international offering, follows up to his critically acclaimed debut, ‘Rapublic’ with a polished sound. M3NSA recorded ‘No. 1 Mango Street’ - a yearning shoutout to the place of his birth. This Ghanaian born, Los Angeles and London-raised man, pays homage to the land of his birth and takes a nostalgic trip down memory lane, vividly depicting the rich, varied nuances of Ghanaian life from an adult. Equally exceptional as an emcee, singer and producer; M3NSA has toured Europe with Hip Hop legends like the The Wu-Tang Clan; The Roots and worked with some of Europe’s heavy hitters such as Sway, Asa and Nneka. M3NSA is currently promoting a film dubbed ‘Coz OvMoni’ - the world's first Pidgen musical, in which he stars with Wanlov the Kubolor. Together the super rap duo known as FOKN BOIS tell the story of an eventful day in the lives of two friends living in the heart of Accra. It is hilarious! It is animated. It is groundbreaking. To date, the film has been accepted numerous international film festivals including South by Southwest, Rio International Film Festival (Brazil) Pan African Film Festival (Los Angeles) Black Filmmakers International Film Festival (London) Pan African Film Festival (Cannes); SXSW (Austin) and Headliner Movie at African Weekender (Sussex).

M3nsa grew up passionate about music. M3NSA’s father, TumiEboAnsah, rocked stages as a guitarist of British afro-pop sensation, Osibisa, and also starred in Heritage Africa (winner of the outstanding film award at the 1989 London Film Festival). His mother, the biggest influence on his music, taught him to play the piano when he was just eight years old. His first official foray into the business was via The Lifeline Family, a short-lived Hip-Life band in Accra, Ghana, which released one album. Following the demise of the band, M3NSA discovered a flair for music production that was soon recognized by Reggie Rockstone, the founder of Hip-life music, Ghana’s innovative blend of Highlife and Hip Hop. He featured on two tracks from Rockstone's third album; ‘Me Ka’ released in 2000. Rockstone quickly enlisted young M3NSA to produce his fourth album, ‘Last Show’. This album went on to be critically and commercially acclaimed.

Wanlov the Kubolor was born in Romania and grew up in Ghana. Raised in a home where both parents were avid collectors of music and other forms of eclectic art, it is no wonder the Kubolor has a unique perspective on life. Kubolor’s love and respect for nature is felt not only in his music, which is delivered in his melodic accent, but also in his hallmark sense of style which is organic at its core. Yes he wears a wrap! Yes, he goes everywhere barefoot and rumors of no underwear might very well be true, but would you expect anything less radical from a Kubolor? Wanlov's widely acclaimed versatility is heard on his debut album “Green Card”, released in 2007 on his return to Ghana after a 7-year stay in the USA. It was nominated at the 2008 Ghana Music Awards for "Discovery of The Year", "Record of The Year", "Video of The Year" & "Hip Hop Song of The Year".  Wanlov the Kubolor has also had the honor of collaborating with Gyedu-BlayAmbolley, Ghana's Rap pioneer / Highlife legend, and Reggie Rockstone, the Godfather of Hiplife, amongst other well respected artists worldwide. Conscious lyrics like “My Skin” and the award winning song “Human Being” not only won the 2006 WCS International Song Contest, but also serve as the soundtrack to the anti-child trafficking campaign led by UNICEF and the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs in Ghana. Wanlov the Kubolor, is an authentic individual. As the nexus of Pidgen Music, the Kubolor is adamant and true to his desires to positively impacting the quality of life for all.

Gibril da African aka Foreign Exchange Hustler is an African Hip Hop artist based in Jersey City, NJ. Gibril has collaborated and shared stages with M1 (Dead Prez), Meta and the Cornerstones, Wanlov, Rasta Bubu and has worked with producers QC Funk; Eric Matlock a.k.a. Coptic, DJ Child, K Jones, Divided Souls, and more. Born in West Africa to a Ghanaian mother and a Sierra Leonean father; Gibril made a dramatic entrance into the world, at a time of great unrest in Ghana. As if to foreshadow his life’s story, in his earliest years, Gibril survived nearly fatal birth complications, and the outbreak of two civil wars in Togo and Nigeria, which forced his family to move to Ghana. Often fending for himself at home and on the streets of Africa, Gibril relied on the positive influences of his parents for spiritual and emotional guidance. At twelve, Gibril fell in love with Hip Hop and by junior high, he was writing his own lyrics. Gibril first made a name for himself as an accomplished rapper and dancer on the boarding school circuit in Western Africa. Fluent in seven languages, Gibril’s eclectic fusion of Hip Hop, rap, and Reggae with English and French vocals has earned him accolades with fans and peers alike. Accra solidified his connection to Rap with the rise of Reggie Rockstone in the late 1990s. By weaving the story of his life's journey and experiences into hypnotic lyrics on powerful beats, Gibril spreads his message of African awareness and the need for African solidarity. “Music is one of the pieces of my puzzle,” says Gibril. “Not only is it my passion but also a very useful tool in my ultimate goal to play a part in the movement to unite the African continent .I know the day will come when we as Africans all over the globe shall stand as one people, join hands, and fly one flag, and till then I will continue to use my talent to push us all towards that day.” In 2001, Gibril moved to the United States to pursue his dream of transforming his love for music into a full-time career. Gibril traveled the country from Ohio to Illinois to Mississippi before he settled in Jersey City, just steps from New York City, the music capital of the world. Throughout his travels, one message has remained forefront “never give up, never forget where you come from.”

“The things she did were medieval! An artiste like Efya needs her own club, like Fela!” - Hugh Masakela

Although she had been singing since she was 9 years old, Efya Jane Awindor didn’t quite decide to do it professionally until she auditioned & gained national recognition in 2008 as the first runner up of Charter House’s Stars of the Future in Ghana.

Her emergence on the music scene landed her and the winner, a three year recording deal with the event company but ended up recording only one group debut, Irene & Jane ‘Unveiled’, which was released in South Africa only.

Having made her entrance onto the music scene through Charter House, Efya was able to secure a slot on all of the media giant’s concerts & events. However, once her contract with Charter House concluded and she found herself a free agent once more. She began to juggle playing shows while reading Theatre Arts Directing & Music at the University of Ghana, Legon. Efya was soon noticed by the heavy weight, Ghana-based Rap/Hiplife artists. Reggie Rockstone; M.Anifest; Sarkodie; Yaa Pono; Asem; D-Black and many others have co-signed her. These artists felt she was the go-to woman when it came to sultry; sassy; soulful hooks for their own rap tracks.

Efya has played countless gigs across Nigeria and Ghana, averaging 2 or 3 appearances a week and has been featured by artists in both countries on released songs and future projects which has helped her build a vast following. She always performs with a live band. Her band is based in Accra. They are called the GinGams. She is very adaptable and mind-meld with new band members in an hour! She proved this with at a recent showcase in March 2012 in New York City. This helps her establish a direct connection with her audience. She is presently putting the finishing touches on her highly anticipated debut studio album, “Love Genesis”, due for release in August 2012.

M.anifest is a true original. Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, the charismatic Hip Hop artist migrated to the Twin Cities of Minneapolis & St. Paul where he was voted City Pages Songwriter of the year after his critically acclaimed 2007 debut ‘Manifestations’. In 2010, MTV spotlighted M.anifest as a hot artist to look out for on the program ‘Seven’. He had been described as an artist with “an incredible gift” (the run-off groove) who possesses “the kind of assured, joyful, ruminative voice that made Mos Def into Hollywood's favorite conscious-rap star" (City Pages). After only beginning to pursue music seriously as a vocation in 2005, the Ghanaian native has already stacked up an impressive résumé: including on stage collaborations with Femi Kuti, Damon Albarn (Gorillaz), Amadou and Miriam, Mick Jones (The Clash), Tony Allen, the Noisettes; plus many more. Allhiphop.com profiled him (along with K’naan) as one of four African Artists “Stormin’ into the Hip Hop World” (2009). In 2010, he played the Festa Dos Mundos festival with Africa Express in Spain in front of a 50,000 crowd and was part of the historic PUMA world cup showcase in Paris. His Music was also featured on the official Nike and Fader Magazine 2010 World Cup Podcast. M.anifest is also a recipient of the American Composers Forum's "Minnesota Emerging Artist" Award (2010). His independently released debut: ‘Manifestations’ (2007), led to the album being picked up by Jakarta Records/Groove Attack and re-released by the indie label in Europe and Japan. The Ghanaian MC is currently is riding high off his official 2011 sophomore release, ‘Coming to America: Immigrant Chronicles’. He is also prominently featured on compositions of the super Group called ’Rocket Juice & The Moon’ (Damon Albarn, Tony Allen & Flea of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers). Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, Blitz the Ambassador is a man infused with the sounds of Afro-Beat, Highlife, Jazz, and Motown. After moving to the U.S.A. to attend college; Blitz continued to hone in on his musical skills by releasing several mixtapes CDs as an undergrad at Kent State University, Ohio. After graduation, Blitz moved to New York City to pursue his dream. In NYC, Blitz began to record, ‘Stereotype’, a live-instrument, heavy musical exploration; that tests the limits of Hip Hop. In order to achieve the live sound he was looking for, Blitz formed a band and named them The Embassy Ensemble, in which he gets to exhibit his own djembe skills as well as his skills as a conductor of music. After getting the major label runaround one to many times; Blitz decided go it alone and formed his own company called Embassy MVMT. “One day I just said, ‘Fuck it’,  “I was tired of record labels telling me I had to be like somebody else. So I came home and wrote: ‘Remembering the Future’. This epic, instrument-laden, track illustrates Blitz’ refusal to be a Stereotypical rapper. The chorus of the song is, “I am who I am / and you can never change me / Reaching for the sun / remembering the future.” The recognition of his music proves that Hip Hop fans are ready for the future. They are hungry for a change, and sick-and-tired of the juvenile radio hits. Blitz the Ambassador is here to give the people what they want. He released his second studio album in conjunction with a short film with both having the title “Native Sun” in 2011. He currently tours three continents for most part of the year. Be on the lookout for his next studio album called ‘gRIOT’.

Kobi Onyame is a Ghanaian/UK-based Hip Hop producer/artist in his late 20s. He describes his music as a fusion of his life's influences, circumstances and changes. At the age of 14, he started writing songs to beats he would make by looping the ends of popular Hip Hop records - this was the beginning of the inner producer. He only started to rap himself because he found it hard to find other young emcees in his area to rhyme over his beats.
“I’ve always been a producer first… I only started to rap because no one would rhyme over my beats… 2009 saw Kobi move from strength to strength. Playing a range of shows ranging from intimate venues such as London's legendary Jazz Cafe to gracing the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury Festival. In recent times, he has also shared the bill with music greats including KanYe

West, Akon, De La Soul, Sway, Flo Rida, Wiley and more. The release of his single "He Said She Said" featuring UK rap heavyweight Sway saw Kobi's industry awareness increase, with support from UKs DJ's Semtex, MistaJam, Shortee Blitz, Ras Kwame, Vic Galloway, Jim Gellatly, DJ Black and more. Furthermore, radio stations such as BBC Radio 1Xtra, Radio 1 (Regional) have supported his music. 2012 is the year Kobi pushes for international recognition and success. He is currently promoting his EP entitled "Green Green Grasses". He's currently riding high in Europe with the melodic; modern single called "Inner City lights" feat. SixPeopleAway. For Kobi, making music is his way of Escaping some of the harsh realities of life…"I’m in my own little world when I’m making a beat…or writing a song.”  "I love that I am able to express myself through music.

Of Ghana descent; Brit-Schooler and UK newcomer Tawiah is the winner of a 'BBC Worldwide Best Newcomer' award and she is such a breath of fresh air it's barely believable. This "nu-soul" girl with a voice that is pleasing & stirring at the same time wins people over and over. She's also toured with Mark Ronson as his "honorary female singer", filling in for muses Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen on "Valerie" and "Oh My God".  She released 6-track EP in 2008 called "in Jodi's Bedroom" features "Watch Out". She co-wrote all the tracks with multi-instrumentalist producer Jodi Milliner. She's packed with spunk; pizzazz & a bubbly but earthy personality. She makes a bold fashion statement that works in New York; London or Accra. "Watch Out" is a beautiful tune in the spirit of Jill Scott's earlier days. Tawiah sounds clear, unfettered and utterly soulful, as she sings notes of caution against getting "carried away" with someone with whom she's meant to be "just friends". As soon as I heard the guitar intro to the song, I knew I was going to love it and I wasn't wrong. On "Another One", she pays homage to the 'good old days' and sings about love gone wrong over a typical 80s beat. Imagine a woman singing over Cameo beats, circa 1984. Tawiah actually leads into the song by telling us how she went through her dad's old records one day and tried to imagine what her track would sound like if she were a recording artiste back in the day. She even puts on a faux American accent for effect and it adds humor to what is another brilliant track, particularly if you're a fan of music from that era.  "Boy From The Ends" is a quirky track about having romantic feelings towards a boy from the neighborhood. "Oh, my God, witness the fitness," she says at the intro and I fell over laughing at the part where Tawiah's 'friends' playfully 'taunt' her with the playground chant: "He likes you, he likes you. Tawiah, he likes you". "Every Step" is a banging house track with a chorus of background singers towards the second half of the song can only be described as heavenly. This is her song that carries her live performances. The lead guitar always mesmerizes the listener. She has a great; bubbly future ahead of her.

Daz represents West London & Ghana.

He began Djaying at the age of 13 at parties, making mix tapes before landing a resident spot at Rotation and Camouflage, North and West London based club nights every Friday and Saturday night. It is said that a man with a drive and strives to be more ambitious beyond belief against all odds is a man on a path to distinction. A very true statement for this West London, Ghanaian enthusiast.

Daz has been a prolific figure often associated with inspiring and developing a vast majority of recording artist dating back over two decades.  An influential DJ with accolades such as the Technics UK Mixing Championship Finalist, an Award Wining club night resident DJ, and a well sort after creative Show & Tour Director, touring with many international and influential performers.
Daz got into djaying at the age of 13 after being heavily inspired by musical scratch patterns performed by Grand Master DST, and visually watching the ‘New Music Seminar’ DJ battles where DJ Cash Money and Jazzy Jeff would take over the whole show.
Practicing and learning scratch patterns from records like Gangstarr’s ‘Who’s Gonna Take The Weight’, or EPMD’s ‘So What You Sayin’ became a matter of importance. Understanding the turntable to be a musical instrument this became his way into the production game.

At a very young age Daryl Dua a.k.a Daz went on to DJ at parties, making mix tapes before landing a resident spot at these north and west London based club nights respectively; Rotation and Camouflage. He went on to win an award for best club night at the MOBO’s in 1998. Daz was also part of production group “Ignorants” hailing out of West London. They were pretty much responsible for changing the whole remixing game in the London music scene remixing people like SWV, 702, All the way down to the likes of KCi & Jojo.
Through the success from the production, and DJ competitions like the DMC, it enabled Daz to perform at high profile events put on by the Princes Trust, BBC & MTV, also performing and supporting artists like Erykah Badu, Janet Jackson, R Kelly , & most recently The Roots.
Daz being the founder of ‘The Resistance’ production group associated with Resistance Entertainment is always pushing the level of creativity in music and the way you play music.

Over the last 10 years, Daz has elevated his flamboyant turntable wizardry style of ‘Cross genre’ mixing with the inclusion of AV. This opens another realm for live show possibilities. The popularity of his style has taken him to numerous international destinations Like Ghana, USA, France; The Czech Republic, Germany, and Spain to name just a few.
Headlining high scale launch parties for Guinness Africa, and celebrity victory parties for The Williams sisters (professional Tennis superstars);
lets you know that Mista Daz is definitely a man on a path to distinction.
