Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, Blitz the Ambassador is a man infused with the sounds of Afro-Beat, Highlife, Jazz, and Motown. After moving to the U.S.A. to attend college; Blitz continued to hone in on his musical skills by releasing several mixtapes CDs as an undergrad at Kent State University, Ohio. After graduation, Blitz moved to New York City to pursue his dream. In NYC, Blitz began to record, ‘Stereotype’, a live-instrument, heavy musical exploration; that tests the limits of Hip Hop. In order to achieve the live sound he was looking for, Blitz formed a band and named them The Embassy Ensemble, in which he gets to exhibit his own djembe skills as well as his skills as a conductor of music. After getting the major label runaround one to many times; Blitz decided go it alone and formed his own company called Embassy MVMT. “One day I just said, ‘Fuck it’,  “I was tired of record labels telling me I had to be like somebody else. So I came home and wrote: ‘Remembering the Future’. This epic, instrument-laden, track illustrates Blitz’ refusal to be a Stereotypical rapper. The chorus of the song is, “I am who I am / and you can never change me / Reaching for the sun / remembering the future.” The recognition of his music proves that Hip Hop fans are ready for the future. They are hungry for a change, and sick-and-tired of the juvenile radio hits. Blitz the Ambassador is here to give the people what they want. He released his second studio album in conjunction with a short film with both having the title “Native Sun” in 2011. He currently tours three continents for most part of the year. Be on the lookout for his next studio album called ‘gRIOT’.
